It will be here before you know it, the 25th Annual Downtown Sioux Falls "Parade of Lights."

This year's parade is again sponsored by CenturyLink and starts at 7:30 P.M. on Friday, (November 25).

People all over the Sioux Empire know the Parade of Lights is the official kickoff to the holiday season in Sioux Falls. An event each year where dozens of local businesses and organizations deck the streets of downtown from Phillips Avenue to 14th Street to 5th Street, with beautifully decorated floats to get area residents in the holiday spirit.

With so many families coming out to watch the Parade of Lights the day after Thanksgiving, the atmosphere is magical  according to Brienne Maner with DTSF Inc. Maner says, "The parade wouldn't be what it is without community support. It really stands out from the other parades, and it always ends with Santa and Frank the Elf."

Not only is the Parade of Lights a beautiful display of holiday lights, spirit, and cheer, it's also a fun contest. Each year a group of judges help select the floats they feel do the best job of using lights to create creative holiday themes in a variety of different categories.

Anyone interested in submitting a float for the 25th Annual Parade of Lights must have their application turned in by no later than (October 28). There is a limit, so, get your application turned in early.
