‘March for Dreamers’ Planned for Downtown Sioux Falls Wednesday
Grassroots Sioux Falls, a local direct-action organisation, is planning a march in downtown Sioux Falls on Wednesday (September 20) to protest moves by the White House to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
DACA is an immigration policy that allows some minor children of undocumented immigrants (known as Dreamers) to the United States to apply for deferred action from deportation and to be eligible for work permits.
"As a community, we value equity, opportunity, and freedom for all and will not be silent while the rights of our fellow Americans are diminished," Organisers said on Facebook.
They are planning to gather for the march at the corner of 10th and Phillips in Downtown Sioux Falls at 7:15 PM Wednesday evening.
