Lizzo Is Bringing Her “Special Tour ’22” To Minnesota This Fall
Lizzo's new album "Special" is coming out July 15 and for the first time in 3 years, she is going back on tour for her "Special Tour '22", including a stop in Minnesota. Lizzo hails from Houston, Texas; but her musical career began to take off when she relocated to Minneapolis in 2013 with her first major record deal in 2016.
Lizzo's breakout album Cuz I Love You came out in 2019 and catapulted her into the stratosphere of success. I remember the first time I saw her perform on the Ellen show and the crowd was going wild. She was fearless, smiling and laughing, you could tell she was having the time of her life.
Although her career started out as a rapper Lizzo showed she had the chops to sing as well and is also an accomplished flute player. She is a major advocate of body positivity and all of her dancers are a plus size which sets the bar for everyone that may not feel like they represent the majority of recording artists or dancers in the industry.
I was able to see her perform live at Treasure Island Casino last summer one of the rare shows she has done in the last few years and she actually got choked up talking to the audience saying how it felt so good to be back home in Minnesota. She did not stop moving for well over an hour and a half dancing and singing and she was amazing along with her dancers too.
If you are a fan this is a must-see show and tickets are sure to go fast. The show at the Xcel Energy Center is set for Tuesday, October 11. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, April 29 at 10 am. Click Here for more information and to purchase tickets!
