Linkin Park Filmed ‘Carpool Karaoke’ Episode Just Before Singer’s Suicide
Chester Bennington and his band, Linkin Park, filmed an episode of Apple Music's Carpool Karaoke: The Series only days before the vocalist committed suicide, followers of Linkin Park have noticed.
Bennington was found dead at his home on Thursday, July 20. Six days earlier, the band tweeted out a photo of themselves and actor Ken Jeong teasing the appearance, telling fans to "stay tuned."
Carpool Karaoke originated on The Late, Late Show With James Corden as a segment in which the host and his guest would rock out together inside a car to various hit songs. It became a viral sensation, and Apple Music picked it up with plans to expand it into a series set to debut August 8. Some of the announced pairings for the show include:
- Will Smith and James Corden
- Miley, Noah, Billy Ray and the entire Cyrus family
- Shakira and Trevor Noah
- Game of Thrones stars Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams
- Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith
- John Legend, Alicia Keys and Taraji P. Henson
- LeBron James and James Corden
Neither Linkin Park nor Apple have commented on Bennington's appearance. The band released a tribute letter to their beloved, late lead singer earlier today:
