Kelly Clarkson Urges Taylor Swift to Re-Record and Re-Release Her Albums Following Scooter Braun Drama
Kelly Clarkson sent Taylor Swift a tweet with advice on how to take some of her music ownership back by re-recording and re-releasing her previous six studio albums that her old record label, Big Machine, currently owns the right to.
“Just a thought, you should go in and re-record all the songs that you don’t own the masters on exactly how you did them,” Clarkson wrote in her tweet to Swift. “But put brand new art and some kind of incentive so fans will no longer buy the old versions.”
Clarkson also admitted that she is a fan of Swift’s and will support her. “I’d buy all of the new versions just to prove a point,” she finished the tweet alongside an emoji of a woman with a sassy hand.
This isn’t the first time that people have suggested this method to Swift. Swift’s fans created an online petition for Swift to re-record and re-release her albums via her new record label, Republic Records.
The fan-made petition currently has over 200,00 signatures on it and climbing. Katy Perry even reportedly signed the petition and wrote words of support to Swift. Perry also allegedly unfollowed label owner Scooter Braun on her social media accounts.
