Lengthy Road Closure Will Impact Access to Sioux Falls Airport

The construction of a new parking garage at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport has created a number of new challenges for drivers at the facility and now a lengthy road closure in the area will bring a new round of headaches.

Beginning Monday (February 19) East Benson Road will be closed between Minnesota Avenue and Fourth Avenue.

The closure is necessary so that crews can perform maintenance and repair work on the bridge over the diversion channel.

That section of East Benson Road is expected to be closed until late November.

A detour utilizing Minnesota Avenue, 60th Street North, and Cliff Avenue will be in place.

Access to businesses on the east side of the bridge will be maintained on Benson Road, from the east.
