Sioux Falls Sporting Shop and Police Need Your Help Finding Robber
Even when it's a holiday weekend, crime never rests. Sometimes people are just unbelievable.
Unfortunately, Dakota Angler in Sioux Falls is a victim of a robbery that occurred over the Memorial Day holiday. The Sioux Falls Police Department and the local outdoor and sporting goods store are asking for the public's help in finding the robber who broke into the store.
Located on East Benson Road, Dakota Angler confirmed this shocking robbery in a Facebook post. The store was broken into shortly after midnight on Monday, May 29th. Two items that were stolen from the store include a Blackfish Dakota Angler jacket and a Striker Duffel bag.
Whenever someone steals that belongs to you, it can feel very violating. This is how the owner of Dakota Angler, Todd Heitkamp, and the entire staff are feeling. They are so devastated. Despite this gut-wrenching robbery, Todd tells me he is overall grateful for the community's support and that no one was harmed.
"All I can really say is that we're thankful no one was hurt and that we're working with police to catch the guy. (We're) asking people to keep an eye out for anyone wearing that Dakota Angler jacket."
If anyone is seen wearing this Blackfish Dakota Angler jacket, Todd is recommending asking them when they worked at Dakota Angler. Todd explains these specific jackets are only worn by employees of Dakota Angler. Afterward, they should contact the Sioux Falls Police Department immediately.
If you know or recognize this person, please call us at the store (605) 336-9132 or contact the Sioux Falls Police Department.
