The food industry is always trying to create new, delicious food combinations and flavors that will add a new twist to our favorites.

Take Oreo, for example, I've lost track of all the different flavors they've come up with over the years, yet I still find myself liking the original, basic Oreo the best.

However, sometimes something new makes headlines and makes everyone want to try it at least once. That seems to be happening now as Minnesota-based Hormel has partnered with Minnesota-based General Mills to create a flavored bacon that has a lot of people licking their chops. Minnesota knows how to take bacon to the next level!

Hormel Black Label Bacon Launches First-Ever Co-Branded Bacon

On September 3, Hormel introduced its first-ever co-branded bacon in partnership with Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, and they say the combination of sweet and salty has never tasted better.

According to the press release, General Mills has lent some "Cinnadust" from its Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal to the Hormel Black Label bacon makers to create the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bacon.

The "Cinnadust" seasoning blend is hand-rubbed onto thick-cut bacon and held overnight for optimal flavor. The limited-edition product promises to deliver a "crisp, sugary crust with a delicious balance of cinnamon, sugar, salt, and savory bacon taste."

Black Label Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bacon will be available to the public beginning on Monday, September 16, at select Walmart locations. In the coming weeks, you'll also be able to find it at Kroger stores while supplies last.

The makers of Hormel Black Label Bacon promise that this is only the beginning. They promise to bring fans the unexpected with more delicious partnerships and limited-time products in 2025 and beyond.

This certainly takes bacon to the next level, and I know I'll be giving it a try. There will also be a lot of creative recipes that include Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bacon, including two that Hormel has already released to get everyone's creative juices flowing.

RECIPE: Hormel Black Label Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bacon Cinnamon Rolls

Hormel shared a couple of recipes to get people started on creative uses for the new bacon. One was a bacon, peanut butter, and banana sandwich, and the other was these amazing-looking bacon cinnamon rolls that only take 45 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 (17.5-ounce) package of refrigerated cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing
  • 10 slices of Hormel Black Label Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bacon, cooked according to package directions
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unroll one cinnamon roll. Place 2 bacon slices over unrolled cinnamon. Roll up the cinnamon roll with bacon slices. Secure with wooden picks.
  • Repeat with remaining cinnamon rolls and bacon. Arrange, cut side down, 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
  • Bake for 16 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 5 minutes before removing to wire rack.
  • Stir cinnamon into the icing.
  • Glaze warm rolls with icing. Let stand for 5 minutes or until the glaze is set. Serve warm.

It says this recipe serves 5, but I have a feeling that if you didn't have four other people with you, they'd still disappear pretty fast.
