On the heels of an alarming situation that happened at Sioux Falls Roosevelt High School on Monday (December 16) now there is a report of a possible threat made by a student at the Harrisburg North Middle School.

KSFY TV is reporting that an email was sent out to the families of Harrisburg North Middle School on Wednesday (December 18), stating the district had recently been working with law enforcement officials to assess a threat made by a student on Friday (December 13).

After closely examining the facts pertaining to the situation, the district has made the determination that the threat is "not viable."

Here is a copy of the letter that was sent to parents:

"After coordinating with law enforcement to assess the situation, we have determined that the threat made by a student on Friday morning, December 13th, was not viable. It did not include names, dates, or times and was made as a transient statement out of frustration. While privacy law does not allow us to share specifics, please be assured that at no time was students or staff in danger. The safety of students and staff is of the utmost importance to us, and in addition, we want to make sure you are abreast of the situation."

According to KSFY, the Harrisburg School District does plan to have a school resource officer present in the building today and Friday as a precaution.
