‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ to Appear in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Because Vin Diesel Says So
We have another update on Vin Diesel courtesy of Vin Diesel, your source for all the latest Vin Diesel news. No, it’s not more Fast 8 drama (#candyassgate was tragically short-lived), but it does involve another major franchise. According to Diesel, Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord won’t be the only Guardians of the Galaxy member to appear in Avengers: Infinity War, as the actor claims that the whole team will be joining their occasionally fearless leader for the upcoming MCU event.
In a new video posted to Facebook (where else?), Diesel credits his fans for getting him to join the MCU and makes mention of some prophetic Avengers comic book cover in one of his old photos — long story short, the Guardians of the Galaxy will be in Avengers: Infinity War:
Next year, you’ve got Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 coming, and that whole concept started from you all saying, ‘When are you going to be in a Marvel movie, when are you going to be in a Marvel movie?’ And you remember the first picture after that Marvel meeting that I had, where I was standing with the Avengers thing in the background … there was an old Avengers copy behind me in the picture.
What’s going to be surreal is, that picture is going to come to pass because now the Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War and that’s incredibly exciting, incredibly exciting. Incredibly exciting, and something that if you were a part of our page, you knew before everybody, or you were told before everybody.
…According to Vin Diesel, anyway. And he tends to get what he wants, so at the very least, Groot’s probably showing up for Infinity War.
It was previously confirmed that Chris Pratt will reprise the role of Peter Quill / Star-Lord for Infinity War, joining what’s quickly becoming the biggest MCU lineup yet, especially with the probable addition of the rest of the Guardians.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017. Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled for May 4, 2018.
