The bad news is it's really cold this week. That's not fun. But it helps get some fun going to Great Bear.

The Great Bear Ski Valley is in full snow-making mode with the cold weather here. An 18-inch base of snow is what they would like to have to get runs open soon. As of right now, there is no opening date. They plan to open as soon as possible, weather permitting.

You can watch the snowmaking process on the webcams at Great Bear.

If skiing or snowboarding isn't your thing, the tubing will be back of course. So will Laser Tubing. Lights and music highlight the night time tubing sessions. It will tentatively take place on December 21, January 4 and 25, and February 8 and 29. All sessions run from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Tickets are limited and only available online at greatbearpark.com.

Don't miss out on the snow season this year! If you've never tried it you can rent the gear you need to try. My daughter did that last year and had a blast!
