Glitter and Unsupervised 5-Year-Olds Don’t Mix

I learned an important lesson last night. Never let your 5-year-old do a project with glitter unsupervised.

Crystal and I were watching a movie last night. Jackie was upstairs playing and wanted to use her glue on a project. I paused the movie and went upstairs with her. As I reached up to the 7-foot-high shelf to grab the glue, she said "I want the glitter too!"

Since she had told me on the way up about the glue applying technique she had learned in kindergarten, I figured she'd be ok. Maybe a little mess, but nothing serious.

As you can see, I was completely wrong.
