Two theater companies that will bring live theater to the McKennan Park band shell in Sioux Falls in August. Both companies will stage their family friendly performances on multiple days next month. All shows are free and open to the public.

Ephemeral Productions’ Page to Stage is a family-friendly show exploding with creativity as some of our favorite children's books come to life on the stage. Humor, music, and dance will give a new twist to Where the Wild Things Are, The Day the Crayons Quit and How I Became a Pirate. Come join our all-age cast; it is fun for everyone.

Show dates and times for Page to Stage are August 3, 4, and 5 at 7:00 PM and August 4 at 10:00 AM.

Discovery Mime Theatre’s Classics! is a fast-paced, colorful, fun, and easily accessible show perfect for children, families, seniors, and everyone else. Using the magical art of mime, performers will weave tales that tickle the funny bone and touch the heart. Discovery Mime Theatre is a professional performing company based in Vermillion, consisting of performers Brian and Mary Begley. Highly trained movement specialists, they are artists-in-residence at the University of South Dakota. They are recipients of numerous grants and awards, and have been on the South Dakota Arts Council’s touring program since 1984.

Performance dates and times for Discovery Mime Theatre’s Classics are August 10 and 11 at 7:00 PM and August 10 at 10:00 AM.
