The Feminine Hygiene Product Drive benefiting The Banquet started in one woman's living room and is now a huge event! And every year it is getting bigger and bigger. I've only attended the last couple years and I can even see the difference!

The drive is always held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and aims to help women in the community. Madeline Shields of The Banquet spoke about how women and men come in asking for hygiene products all year round.

I walked into the event last night and headed over to the table to drop off my donation and was astounded! They had to bring in another table and there were donations spilling onto the floor. And there was still an hour remaining in the event when I had to leave.

Such overwhelming generosity!

Brienne Maner with Downtown Sioux Falls gave me the totals and I was amazed! 49,479 individually wrapped items for the 2018 drive. That is more than double of last year's 23,000.

Thank you Sioux Falls.

Let's see if we can top it next year!
