The annual Sioux Falls St. Patrick's Day Parade is usually held the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day. This year, they made an exception. Since St. Patrick's Day is Friday, March 17, 2017, the annual parade will be held on Saturday, March 18. With a high temp near 50 on Saturday, you'll still need a jacket, but at least you won't be watching the parade in a snow storm.

Festivities begin on Saturday with the Painting of the Shamrock at 11:00 AM at the corner of 9th and Phillips.

If you're going to be in the parade, line-up starts at 12:30 PM in the staging area on Main and Dakota Avenues between 11th and 13th streets. Adults 16 and over must purchase an official St. Patrick's Day button for $3 to participate in the parade. It's free for spectators. You can pick up the buttons at the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Office at 200 N. Phillips Avenue, Suite 200 or at any participating business the day of the parade. All proceeds from button sales are donated to the Special Olympics and other children's charities in the Sioux Falls area.

The parade starts at 2:00 PM. The parade starts at 13th and Phillips and travels north to 5th and Phillips. Here's the parade route.
