Almost a year after the passing of Avicii (real name Tim Bergling) "SOS" has been released.

"SOS" was a song Avicii had started with co-writers and co-producers Kristoffer Fogelmark and Albin Nedler before his sudden death.

The two co-writers said that vocalists names were thrown around for the song, but ultimately they all wanted and agreed on Aloe Blacc. Sadly, Aloe Blacc did not record his vocals before Avicci's passing. However, he felt strongly about doing the song because they had such a great history having done "Wake Me Up" in 2013.

The video for "SOS" is a memorial of sorts. Messages of remembrance show on the screen during the song.

The lyrics to the song seem a bit ominous now. The lyrics mention drug use, having trouble sleeping, and a restless mind. Knowing now that Avicii took his own life, the song seems like a real cry for help. "SOS" seems to be the epitome of life imitating art.

You can see the backstory below.
