A Goodbye From Mel [PHOTOS]

First off, I just want to thank the listeners for tuning in every day. It's the thing I will miss the most about not being on the air. Whenever I was out at a concert or live broadcast I always got a kick out of how much they paid attention and cared about my life. It always made me smile.

To Andy, my boss and co-host, I will miss annoying you and having you be like a big brother. If I needed advice or when I was going through some very hard things to deal with in my life, you were there for me and understood. You may get some texts and phone calls in the future asking for your advice. I will miss our arguments and debates. You made me stronger and more confident in myself and I thank you for that.

I will also miss Jonny V and Ben and the rest of the staff from all the other stations. There is so much talent and humor in this building and everyday was interesting and fun.

There are a lot of questions as to why I am leaving. I was offered by my part-time job to go full time and they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. It's the best thing for my family and family comes first!

I have been in radio since I was 17 and it will be in my blood all my life. Thank you for listening and all the sweet words. I will still be on twitter you can still follow me today @mel1047 I will be changing the handle tomorrow but all my followers will stay the same.

I don't know if I can pick just one favorite moment from the past three years. There are to many to pick from. I always loved announcing the concerts, the Zombie walk and laughing every morning.
