Don’t Care About Football? Here’s 5 Netflix Comedy Specials to Watch Instead
I enjoy football the same way I enjoy pop. If it's offered I'll drink it, but if I never have it again I wouldn't miss it; and people who are really into it turn me off from it.
So if your team isn't playing in the super-ist of the bowls this weekend, or if you couldn't care less about the game at all, here's five great comedy specials that are on Netflix to watch this weekend instead.
- 1
"Cristela Alonzo: Lower Classy"
Cristela Alonzo is one of my new favorite comics. I discovered her on Conan and enjoyed here sitcom Christela (which last I knew was on Netflix too). This new special recorded in her home state of Texas is super funny.
- 2
"Jim Gaffigan: Cinco"
Jim Gaffigan's fifth comedy special is a great as the last four (all also on Netflix). If you saw Jim in Sioux Falls last year you may remember some of the stories, now you can enjoy them again.
- 3
"Matt Braunger: Big Dumb Animal"
You may recognize Matt from his acting on TV shows or his appearances on @Midnight. His stand-up is so good, very silly and funny. He's a goofy guy trying to live life at the end of his 30's and navigating the weird world that that entails.
- 4
"Myq Kaplan: Small, Dork and Handsome"
Myq (pronounced like Mike) has his wordplay, puns, and verbal misdirection game tight. He is super smart and a joy to watch.
- 5
"Gary Gulman: It's About Time"
I first heard Gulman on the podcast Never Not Funny. He deftly delivers intricate bits that take you on a journey of fun. A highlight is his story about the people who came up with two-letter abbreviations for all of the United States for postal efficiency.
