"Don't Trust Me" or "DONTTRUSTME" was the band's breakout hit!

According to Wikipedia, "It was their first top 10 hit in the U.S, reaching #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in its 23rd week on the chart.[4] It has also been a huge success on U.S. Mainstream Top 40 radio, reaching #1 there."

While the song and band were popular with listeners, not everyone was a fan! "Lou Thomas of BBC called the song 'lyrically disturbing', commenting that 'some might go so far as to argue it’s misogynistic and offensive'."

While I don't disagree, the song is called "Don't Trust Me" so they are basically saying 'we're bad people, you shouldn't like us.'

I actually met the guys from 3OH!3 when they played a show in Brookings back in 2011 (see photo below). The thing that stands out to me, besides how tall they were, was how polite and nice they were in person, then they hit the stage and they're cussing and spitting off the stage. I think that offensive persona was just for show. Seems a weird thing to want to portray, but I guess it worked.

The music video for "Don't Trust Me" is a bit chaotic. The plot has something to do with Foreman and Motte being the only two men left on the planet. The video was nominated at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards for Best New Artist.

The guys are still together and making music. On November 13, 2020, they released a song called "Lonely Machines" with duo 100 gecs
