Cobey DeSchepper is your typical 6-year-old boy. He likes watching his San Francisco 49er's, going to Sioux Falls Stampede games, swimming and playing hide-and-seek. What's different about Cobey, is that he's been fighting leukemia since 2015.

Cobey is on a three year treatment plan and receives chemotherapy. If all goes as planned, he'll be done with treatment in October 2018.

This week, there will be two benefits for Cobey and his family.

Since Cobey loves hockey, it's only fitting that a benefit is held at a Sioux Falls Stampede game. Friday night (January 12) is Cobey's Courage Benefit night at the Stampede game at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. The puck drops at 7:05 PM.

The event is a family-friendly event and a great way to help the DeSchepper family. Call the Stampede office at 605-336-6060 to purchase tickets for $15. Tickets must be purchased by 5:00 PM on Thursday, (January 11) and you must mention Cobey's Courage Benefit in order for the proceeds to go to him. All chuck-a-puck proceeds will also be donated to Cobey.

Then on Saturday (January 13) there will be a Cobey's Courage Vendor Fair at 2100 S. Summit Avenue in Sioux Falls from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. The event is a vendor fair and thrift sale.

Vendors include Angel Massage, Dazzle for Days, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Tupperware, Thirty One, Scentsy, Norwex and lots of thrift items. There will also be a raffle for a 55 inch TV.
