Dakota News Now reports the Yankton City Commission passed an emergency ordinance ordering restaurants and bars in the city to close their seating areas amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

Carry-out and delivery options will still be offered.

The ordinance was passed by the commission during a special meeting Tuesday night.  Violations of the ordinance is a misdemeanor.

Yankton Mayor Nathan Johnson says the city has received mixed opinions on their options, according to Dakota News Now.  The mayor added the city was waiting for recommendations from the state.
