Would a Waiting Room Bar at the Dentist Make it Less Stressful?

Would having a beer or a scotch in the waiting room at the dentist make for a less stressful visit?

Of course it would! But some lawmakers are not having it.

Some dentist offices in Texas and New York have acquired liquor licenses as a way to promote "taking the edge off" before the appointment. Of course, there may some drawbacks to the practice.

According to the Dallas Morning News, it can lead to troublesome outcomes, including the patient competently able to give consent. Other health professionals have weighed in on the bloods ability to clot after alcohol.

Texas lawmakers have also stepped in saying, "this is a line we can't cross."

With as much uproar as the topic is receiving, it's not likely we'll be seeing a waiting room bar anytime soon.
