Wisconsin Tattoo Artists Covering up Painful Scars of Human Trafficking Victims
Some awesome news coming from my home state. Tattoo artists in Kenosha, Wisconsin are covering up painful symbols etched into the bodies of human trafficking victims, for free.
John Principe, owner of Kenosha Tattoo Company, offers free coverups to victims of human trafficking. According to Fox6now, Principe said, "Every single day it's staring them in the face, so if anything, this is something that, what it will do, it will give them a moment like, a step in their healing process."
Since June the tattoo shop has covered up more than a have dozen unwanted markings. Stats conducted by DoSomething say that between 14,500 and 17,500 people are trafficked into the U.S. each year.
