Who is ‘Royals’ Singer Lorde? [VIDEO]

Ella Yelich-O'Connor is her birth name but, she better known as Lorde. She is a singer-songwriter that was born in  Auckland, New Zealand in 1996. She says that she has been writing songs since her early teens. Her first full album comes out at the end of September. The song Royals has been a huge hit in New Zealand and Australia and is now expanding all over the world. This is what she said about the song:

“When I wrote Royals, I was listening to a lot of rap, but also a lot of Lana Del Rey, because she’s obviously really hip-hop influenced, but all those references to expensive alcohol, beautiful clothes and beautiful cars – I was thinking, ‘This is so opulent, but it’s also bulls**t." - The Diplomat
