I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that it will be Black Friday in just a little over two months, wasn't it just the 4th of July a few weeks ago?

Black Friday shopping is probably one of my least favorite things in life, I can't stand the crowds, and I definitely do not possess the patience to stand in line for hours on end only to miss out on the coveted Instant Pot that was a doorbuster deal for the day.

It seems like gaming systems are always a big get every Black Friday. When it comes to popular gaming consoles South Dakotans are all about the Nintendo Switch right now. You can expect that gaming system to be in high demand and more than likely impossible to find again this holiday shopping season in the Sioux Empire.

The gang at CasinosCrypto.com recently analyzed data using Google Search trends that tracked the most popular gaming consoles in every state. The Nintendo Switch is the gaming system of choice in both Dakotas as a matter of fact.

Serious gamers in both South and North Dakota prefer to play the 5-year-old Nintendo Switch over the most popular gaming system in the country right now, the PlayStation 5.

The PS5 ranks #1 in 34 states in the nation. Playstation 5 has dominated the gaming market in the U.S. over the past two years according to findings from CasinoCrypto.com.

Gamers in South Dakota rank the PS5 as the third most popular gaming console in the state right behind the X Box.

Surprisingly enough, gaming systems aren't just for the 15-year kid that can't seem to get his butt off the couch. 58% of people ages 30 to 49 identify as gamers according to a Pew research project. Another 40% of people aged 50 to 64 claim to play video games and 25% of people 65 and older say they enjoy playing video games.

However, I'm guessing that group is still probably playing Boulder Dash on their Commodore 64.
