With all of the extra time at home that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has provided a lot of us, it's been a perfect time to take a deep dive into our collections of DVDs or even VHS copies of some of our favorite movies.

For me, it's been revisiting the James Bond classics, from 1962's Dr. No all the way to 2015's Spectre.

For some of us, it's not action flicks, but romantic comedies that have been front and center. And when you're talking 'rom-coms' no decade can match what the 1990s provided us.

So which is South Dakota's go-to movie from that genre during that era?

Mental Floss has published a survey compiled by USDish, which shows that in the Mount Rushmore State we can't get enough of the 1998 Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan classic Sleepless in Seattle.

The Nora Ephron directed film was also the top choice in Kansas, Utah, and West Virginia.

Across the country, the most popular pick was actually a tie with 12 states (Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Virginia) opting for 1995's Clueless, with another dozen states (Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas) choosing 1997's My Best Friend's Wedding.

One other film landed as the top choice in double-digit states. 1991's Father of the Bride, led the voting in ten states (Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma).
