World’s Longest Elevated Pedestrian Path Opening In Minnesota

The Minnesota Zoo offers several fun experiences throughout the year including Bears & Brews on April 29th. This special, adults-only, get-together will feature live music, food trucks, and local breweries for visitors to enjoy while checking out the zoo.

In addition to all of the special events, the Zoo has a new attraction coming this summer that will take guests high up into the trees and provide them with a unique perspective of the animals and their surroundings. Find out when this incredible attraction will open to the public, which areas of the zoo it will cover, and see what it will look like below.

The Minnesota Zoo just announced an exciting new addition that will provide guests with stunning birdseye views of animals.

The Zoo's monorail was outdated and often had mechanical issues so it was retired back in 2013. The track was never removed though and 5-years later the Zoo started planning how to repurpose it.

That's when they came up with the idea of the TreeTop Trail.

After several years of construction, the trail is almost ready for public use.

Minnesota Zoo Director and Foundation President John Frawley said, "The Treetop Trail is a major step in furthering connections to nature and animals in an accessible and immersive way.”

The Zoo's website explains that guests will be able to stroll across the Treetop Trail later this summer and will be able to see "hundreds of acres of hardwood forest, ponds and marshes, and the diverse wildlife that call it home."

The 1.25-mile-long accessible pathway reaches heights of 32ft in some spots and will provide amazing opportunities to observe wildlife like never before.

Officials say the new attraction will open on Friday, July 28th, and will cover a large portion of the zoo.
