South Dakota is home to 18 colleges and universities. We also have two big ones: South Dakota State University (SDSU) in Brookings, which has the most students, and the University of South Dakota (USD) in Vermillion, founded in 1862 and the state's oldest university. USD also hosts the state's medical and law schools.

In Sioux Falls, we have Augustana University and the University of Sioux Falls. As well as Southeast Technical College, Sioux Falls Seminary, and a branch of USD.
