Sioux Falls Sex Offender Faces Numerous Charges
Sioux Falls Police arrested a sex offender after he was found passed out in a car near Maple and Blauvelt Avenue on Thursday.
"When the officers approached the vehicle they did find a male in there." according to Police Lt. John Duprey.
"He was extremely groggy. In speaking with him there was a concern the person had a medical concern. EMS was then called by police officers. They did get him out of the vehicle at which time they found a pistol in one of his pockets."
Duprey says the man faces a number of charges.
"DWI, possession of a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, possession of marijuana (less then two inches). The person had also failed to register as a sex offender."
Duprey identified the suspect as 20-year-old Ahmed Idar of Sioux Falls.
