Farm and ranch families of South Dakota Farm Bureau kicked off Ag Week as they donated close to $1,500 worth of groceries to the Ronald McDonald House in Sioux Falls.

For close to 20 years this effort has been made possible by donations from members throughout South Dakota and is spearheaded by the South Dakota Farm Bureau Women's Leadership Team.

The Team Chair, Cindy Foster, said,

As farmers and ranchers we produce food for the world, and this is one way we can share and give back. We consider it a privilege to assist the Ronald McDonald House in their mission of helping families who have children in the hospital.

The team raises the money through county Farm Bureaus throughout the state and uses it to buy groceries on the wish list provided by the Ronald McDonald House. We learned more about this wonderful project from a press release sent to us by South Dakota Farm Bureau

In addition to groceries, the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Sioux Falls receives a weekly delivery of fresh milk and eggs throughout the year thanks to the generosity of members of South Dakota Farm Bureau.

Ronald McDonald House Charities provides a home away from home to the families of sick or injured children near a hospital where their child is receiving care, serving families across South Dakota and the upper Midwest.
