Suspicious injuries and an inconsistent story led to a local daycare’s license being temporarily suspended.

Sioux Falls Police say emergency crews were dispatched to a daycare on Thursday to check on the well-being of a 4-month-old child.

When the child was examined at Sanford Children’s Hospital police assistance was requested after determining the injuries were suspicious in nature and not matching with witness accounts.

Police are now investigating the incident and City Health Director Jill Franken says daycare operations and registrations at this time are suspended for this daycare pending the outcome of the probe. City officials did not release the name or address of the daycare.
