Splash Into Summer: Sioux Falls Hydrant Block Parties Are Back

We are getting to the hottest part of the summer, and Sioux Falls Fire and Rescue has the perfect way to beat the heat.

One of the many things that make Sioux Falls great is all the amazing services the City of Sioux Falls provides. Like the bike trail, our amazing parks system, and fun events like Hydrant Block Parties.

When it's hot, getting wet is a great way to cool off. Through July, Sioux Falls Fire and Rescue is hosting Hydrant Block Parties where they open up some fire hydrants, hook up hoses, and have fun.

The parties take place at various parks in Sioux Falls. The Park's Mobile Rec Unit is also on hand to organize games and activities. The Bookmobile also makes an appearance.

The Hydrent Block Parties are a great way to connect with others in the neighbourhood. Plus, they are kid-friendly events.

Sioux Falls Hydrant Block Party Schedule

For the summer of 2025, the Hydrent Block Parties take place on Thursday afternoons from 1:00 until 3:00 PM through the first week of August.

Thursday, July 17, at Prairie Meadows Park (6805 S. Grange Ave.)

Thursday, July 24, at Granite Valley Park (6101 N Gold Nugget Ave)

Thursday, July 31, at Whispering Woods Park (5820 S Bahnson Avenue)

Thursday, August 7, at Galway Park (7420 W. 64th St.)
