Ciara and Russell Wilson have only been married for less than a week, but the Seattle Seahawks quarterback is already gushing about his new bride — namely, revealing the "best part" about marrying the R&B pop performer.

You might assume that for the NFL player the wedding night — and its inevitable and long-awaited act of consummation — would be the best part, but it's even more romantic than that: Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Wilson shared that the very moment he'll always cherish from his wedding day to Ciara is simply watching her walk down the aisle towards him. Awww!

"I'll tell you, the best part of the wedding was watching her walk down the aisle," he told the publication. "I had so many [thoughts], but to see her gracefully walk down the aisle in that long train... and to realize I was going to spend the rest of my life with her gives me chills."

Wilson also added that he knew he'd spend the rest of his life with the "I Bet" singer the moment they met. Again: Awwwww!

"Ever since the first day I met her, she's always been, honestly, my best friend," he said. "We've been so close."

As for their future together, the sports star revealed that he and Ciara want to expand their brood (which currently includes the artist's son, Future Zuhair, from her previous tumultuous relationship with rapper Future) and that the newlywed couple is already already planning a family together. Once more for the cheap seats in the back: Awwwwwwww!

"I want to have a bunch of kids — me and Ci do," Wilson admitted.

"I think that ever since the first day I ever met Ciara and Little Man, too, it's been really cool and really special..." he added. "We just share so many special moments together. That's what family is all about. Ultimately, it's about giving back and loving as much as you can to your fullest. That's what you're able to do together."

The pair, who got engaged back in March 2016, were wed in a magical private castle ceremony in England on July 6.
