Sioux Falls Police Department spokesman Sam Clemens says a credit card skimmer was located inside a gas pump at a North Sioux Falls gas station.

"The manager had noticed a security seal was damaged. When he opened up the machine he found there were some extra wires inside that didn't belong there. They were attached to a skimmer. He removed that and called police."

Clemens isn't sure if customers at the gas station have been violated by using the pump.

"At this point we don't know if anybody has been a victim, but we just want people to know that they pay attention to the security seal at the gas pumps. If it's been damaged or tampered with don't use it and report the information to management."

Sioux Falls Police have not released the name of the business because of Mary's Law in South Dakota.
