Pheasant Hunters Arrive In South Dakota, Welcomed At The Sioux Falls Airport
Hunters from throughout the country are in South Dakota to hunt pheasants!
Phil Miller of Augusta, Georgia is one of them. We caught up with Phil when he got off the plane at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport.
“I love it! It’s been on my list for seven years. I look forward to it all year long. The trip has it all. It’s my getaway where I can put my troubles away, look at the beautiful country out here that’s different from my home. No phone calls! No responsibilities! Great Food! Great Hunting! Great visibility!”
Phil enjoys the total hunting experience.
“Absolutely. You have what I call southern hospitality. You love the land. You love conservation. It’s beautiful here. You have pride for your country.”
Teri Schmidt of the Convention and Visitor Bureau along with her staff welcomed the hunters as they arrived at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport.
“This is a big time. They plan it year after year. This adventure is about having experiences in South Dakota. They don’t really care if they get all the birds. From all the hunters we talk with---they don’t care. What they really care about is getting out in the fields and enjoying the fresh air of South Dakota and relationships.”
Teri says the hunters spend millions of dollars while in the state.
