Oreo Recall? Say It Isn’t So!
This is pretty scary! Perfect for Halloween, huh? Once again, one of our favorite food brands has issued a recall. And again, it is not about contamination or bacteria, but a simple mislabeling of products. The two cookies involved are both Oreo Fudge Cremes, original and mint-flavored.
The problem is that the packages may not have a label indicating they were produced in a factory which processes milk products. So if you or anyone in your family has a milk allergy or sensitivity, you should toss the cookies. (Pardon the expression!)
Here is the specific information you're looking for (date & UPC code) on the bottom left corner on the back of the cookie package:
- Oreo Fudge Cremes, Original variety (11.3-ounce package); retail UPC: 0 44000 02694 3 — Best-by dates: 19 AUG 16, 20 AUG 16, 14 SEP 16, 13 OCT 16, 14 OCT 16, 17 OCT 16
- Oreo Fudge Cremes, Mint variety (11.3-ounce package); retail UPC: 0 44000 02696 7 — Best-by dates: 20 AUG 16, 21 AUG 16, 14 SEP 16, 15 SEP 16, 16 SEP 16, 17 OCT 16, 18 OCT 16
Complete information on this product recall can be found on the FDA website.
