A short-handed Sioux Falls Skyforce squad fell victim on the road to a more fully formed Oklahoma City Blue crew 128-113 Thursday night.

Early in the game it was the Malik Beasley show as his first quarter output of 12 points and 11 rebounds fueled an early Skyforce (28-21) surge. As halftime approached, the Blue (33-16) started rolling and kept the flow all the way through the third quarter.

With only eight players gracing the court for the ‘Force, 19 points was a river too wide to navigate in the fourth quarter. Especially notable for Oklahoma City were the 88 points in the paint compared to 44 scored by Sioux Falls in close.

The final Beasley line shows that he was able to sustain his hot start with 32 points and 19 rebounds with 7 assists for the assignee from the Denver Nuggets. Keith Benson scored 18 and Marcus Posley scored 15 off the bench for the Skyforce.

Leading the Blue was forward Daniel Hamilton’s 23 points and 15 rebounds. Center Dakari Johnson barely missed a double-double with 21 tallies and 9 boards.

One more game remains for each team with Sioux Falls heading to Austin Saturday night. Oklahoma City will host Texas also on Saturday with the possibility of playing for the number one seed in the Western Conference playoffs.
