Nicole Scherzinger is wildly more popular in the U.K. than she is in the U.S., so we're not shocked that the former Pussycat Doll and ex-'X Factor' judge covers the December issue of Marie Claire U.K. She smolders in black.

Nic's hair is swept back off her face, allowing the focus to narrow on her pretty eyes, glowing skin, nude-hued lips and that adorned frock, which matches her hair color.

In the accompanying feature, Scherzy talked about growing up broke. "To think of losing it [my fortune] scares me because I grew up with nothing," the singer confessed (quotes courtesy of AOL Music). "We couldn't afford the luxury of getting a yearbook or school photos or anything like that. Mom got all my clothes from second-hand stores and garage sales."

The singer, 34, also spoke about her own maternal aspirations, saying, "I think five years might be a good time to look at having children," nodding to her belief that if it's meant to be, it'll be, even if it means she's a mom in her 40s.

The idea of having kids takes a backseat right now in favor of her career, which has stalled a bit domestically despite doing well across the pond. She has taken a job as a judge on the British edition of 'X Factor.' "I'm focusing on my career. I see lots of women having beautiful children later in life now. And, if not, just freeze your eggs," she said.

That wouldn't be the strangest thing in the world...
