Many have tried to convince me to buckle in and have some fun. But this just might be the reason why I would never, EVER, ride on a theme park ride like The Catapult. My greatest fear has come true, and thankfully, this Minnesota boy and a family friend wasn't hurt.

On their way to a basketball tournament in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dru Larson and his son Trevor of Tracy, Minnesota, decided to have a little fun in the Wisconsin Dells. A family friend, Carrie Suecker and Trevor, wanted to experience the thrill of being catapulted upward on ‘The Catapult’ at Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park in the Dells. But what should have been the thrill of a lifetime, ended early and could have taken a serious turn after one of the cables snapped.

The independently owned 'Catapult' has been in the Wisconsin Dells for about 20 years and has never had a problem until now. The theme park Mt. Olympus is working with the ride’s owners to insure rider safety in the future and 'The Catapult' was reopened to the public a few days after the incident.

I'm just glad Trevor and Carrie didn't all the way off the ground before the cable snapped!
