The Minnesota Wild begin their Stanley Cup Playoff run on Thursday against the top seeded Dallas Stars and they will be without their top offensive weapon.

The Wild's leading scorer, Zach Parise will miss at least the first two games of the series and has been ruled out indefinitely.

In addition to Parise's absence, Wild forward and former Sioux Falls Stampede player Thomas Vanek will also not make the trip. Vanek has been dealing with a injury for a while and has not skated with the team in over 12 days.

In 70 games this year, Parise knocked in 25 goals and the offense is going to have to come from somewhere against a very good Dallas Stars team.
