Midco Aquatic Center Fully Open with Safety Precautions

Even though the weather outside is frightful, the Midco Aquatic Center always melts away those winter blues.  However, things are a little different at the  Midco Aquatic Center thanks to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic.

The good news?  The Midco Aquatic Center is now fully open to the public with some safety precautions to keep in mind.  According to its website, "Every operational aspect of the Midco^® Aquatic Center has been redesigned to advance our commitment to your safety during these unprecedented times. Our staff is serious about safety and is extensively trained to make smart decisions, implement controls and ensure access to a safe environment that will help keep guests safe."  All swimmers, spectators, and the Midco Aquatic Center employees are expected to follow these safety measures.

In an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, any patron who is not swimming inside the Midco Aquatic Center is required to wear a mask, including staff members.  Each pool area has specific rules to follow.

The Sanford Health 50-Meter Pool:  All swimmers must wear a mask until they are ready to enter the water.  Once out of the pool, swimmers must "replace their mask and wear until they exit the facility."

The Recreational Pool: Since everyone moves around often at the Recreational Pool, swimmers are only required to wear a mask until they are on deck.  Swimmers are not required to wear a mask when they relocate from the Rec Pool to the Warm Water or any other location on the Rec side of the Midco Aquatic Center.  However, swimmers do need to wear a mask when entering the locker rooms, bathrooms, and lobby area.

Spectators are required to wear a mask at all times inside the Midco Aquatic Center.
