According to Dakota News Now, police are looking for a man who did just that on Wednesday night in a neighborhood in northwest Sioux Falls.

At approximately 8:30 pm, the kids were playing with a tandem bike that they borrowed from a neighbor. As they were playing, a man walked up and took the bike from them.

The owner of the bike, who was still inside his home at the time, was told what happened by the kids. He then went on a search for the man and his bike. After finding the man and confronting him about the theft, the alleged bike-snatcher argued with the owner over it. When the owner tried to forcibly take the bike back, the suspect produced a hatchet and swung it at him, injuring him. The 53-year-old victim sought medical attention for a wound on his hand,

Sioux Falls Police Spokesman Sam Clemens said the suspect is described as middle eastern and has a black ponytail and beard. He also has tattoos and wore a green coat.

The Merriam-Webster definition of iconic is "widely recognized and well-established." That would definitely describe Whiffer's Sandwiches which used to call North Minnesota Avenue home.

The gone but not forgotten sandwich shop was located in an old house at 1133 North Minnesota Avenue. It served sandwiches to Sioux Falls from November 1978 until summer 2020.
