I remember Jenny Craig commercials galore when I was a kid. The company was founded in 1983 and it was one of the places to go to if you wanted to get a few extra pounds off. Kirstie Alley, Valerie Bertinelli, Jason Alexander, and Mariah Carey all sang the praises of Jenny Craig.

But according to NBC News, starting as soon as this week, hundreds of locations are closing. Jenny Craig has about 500 company-owned and franchised stores in the United States and Canada.

Jenny Craig has 1 location in South Dakota, 5 locations in Iowa, and 6 in Minnesota.

In an email sent to Jenny Craig employees late Tuesday, the company It's going to close “due to its inability to secure additional financing".

The hourly center workers at Jenny Craig locations were let go Tuesday (5/2), while Jenny Craig corporate and salaried field employees' last day is Friday.

NBC reports Jenny Craig has been looking for a buyer for the past two weeks as it's been running out of money. Failure to nail down one is resulting in the company possibly filing for bankruptcy by the end of the week.

According to Jenny Craig employees, there was no indication that the company was rapidly spiraling over the last two weeks.

The Best Truck Stop Food in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota

One of the best parts of any road trip is a stop at a truck stop. Whether you call them, travel centers, convenience stores, or just a gas stations; these oases are so interesting and fun.

In the middle of nowhere, you find the island of pavement, pumps, and people; getting gas, some rest, and fuel for themselves, AKA some classic truck stop food.

I'm partial to a Love's Truck Stop. They are usually big and well-managed. And as a connoisseur of gas-station coffee, Love's is one of the best. Plus, they have some delicious hot dogs.

I'm not the only one that enjoys a stop at a truck stop for good eats. The food blog LoveFood.com dug through user reviews to find the best truck stop food in each state.
