It first opened last year. It's the only five-star rated hotel in the entire state of Minnesota, and here's what it's like to be one of its guests.

What's the definition of a 5-star hotel?

You might be wondering (like I was) just what makes a hotel a 'five-star' hotel? Well, here's the definition, according to the Five Star Alliance, a luxury hotel site: "Five-star hotels are properties that offer their guests the highest levels of luxury through personalized services, a vast range of amenities, and sophisticated accommodations," the site said.

Now if you've traveled to and stayed in major world-class cities like New York, Chicago or Los Angeles, finding a five-star hotel is pretty easy to do. Even Las Vegas, while not as big as those cities, has many different five-star hotels ready to host visitors.

But here in Minnesota, not so much... until last year, that is. In fact, the ONLY five-star hotel here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes has only been in business for a little over year now, having first opened its doors in the summer of 2022 in Minnesota's biggest city.

So which hotel IS Minnesota's only 5-star hotel?

The Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis officially opened its doors for the first time on June 1st 2022. It's located at 245 Hennepin Avenue, and it's taking reservations right now. Of course, staying at the only five-star hotel in the North Star State is going to cost you: CBS-Minnesota says the over 200 rooms at the Four Seasons (with names like 'Premiere River View,' the 'Skyline Executive Suite' or, of course, the 'Presidential Suite') cost between $500 and $900 a night!

There's also ultra-fine dining at the Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis, featuring Mara Restaurant and Bar, created by Gavin Kaysen, a Twin Cities-based James Beard Award-Winning chef. There are also two other restaurants in the hotel, as well as customized private and in-room dining. And, of course, a luxurious spa, wellness center, and rooftop bar and pool (which are open to the public) too.

Or the lake home Gophers football coach PJ Fleck sold last fall? Keep scrolling to check them both out, along with the house former Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman lived in while he worked here too.
