How NFL Players Really Feel About Taylor Swift At Chiefs Games: A New Poll
NFL Players Share Their Thoughts on Taylor Swift's Impact on the League
A recent anonymous poll conducted by The Athletic finally gives us a glimpse into how NFL players feel about Taylor Swift’s high-profile appearances at Kansas City Chiefs games in support of her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. The results are in—and they show that, for the most part, players are embracing the pop star’s presence.
When asked if Swift’s attendance at Chiefs games has been a positive, negative, or neutral influence on the NFL, the majority of players leaned positive:
- Positive: 72.5%
- Negative: 4.9%
- Neutral: 22.5%
Swift's Positive Impact on the NFL
Many players recognize the business aspect of Swift's presence. One player commented, “It’s been good for the league. At the end of the day, this is a business, and having more eyes on it is always better. Taylor Swift brings a lot of attention, and if it helps boost the salary cap, nobody’s going to complain about that.”
A Minority of Dissenters
Not everyone is on board, however. Out of the 102 players polled, five felt Swift’s involvement had a negative impact. One player voiced concerns about excessive coverage, saying, “I think she’s getting too much attention. There was an NFL opening season video where she appeared five times, but our quarterback wasn’t featured at all. That’s not right—she isn’t the NFL.”
Finding Balance in the Spotlight
Among the 23 players who believed Swift’s presence was neutral, some emphasized the need for moderation. “She’s bringing attention to the game, but they show her too much during broadcasts. If they keep focusing on her, people will start getting tired of it. The league needs to find the right balance,” said one player.
While opinions may vary, it’s clear that Swift’s association with the NFL has sparked conversation both on and off the field, with the majority of players seeing it as a positive influence on the league’s visibility and growth.
