Green Light: Arctic Cat Has Started Vehicle Production Up Again
After being purchased by a new ownership group in April, Arctic Cat is ramping up production of its line of vehicles, which includes St. Cloud's engine facility. It's good news for fans of the iconic Minnesota brand.
Green Light For Production
Production started back up at the Thief River Falls plant just 90 days after it was announced that new owners would be taking over Arctic Cat. Before the announcement of a new ownership group, there were questions as to whether or not the brand could be saved, as there were already plans to stop building vehicles.
Arctic Cat CEO and President, Brad Darling, stated, “Arctic Cat is in the hands of believers. From day one, I knew everyone involved was ready to roll up their sleeves and dig in. That proof continues to show itself every day. Now, in the past couple of weeks, we have not only released a new off-road lineup but also hit the start button on the production line. I couldn’t be prouder of the efforts put forth and everything we have been able to accomplish in the first 90 days.”

St. Cloud Engine Facility
According to a press release that was sent out about the production starting back up at Arctic Cat's Thief River Falls plant, there was mention of the St. Cloud engine plant.
"Arctic Cat’s St. Cloud engine facility is also ramping up for what looks like a very busy season, producing some of the finest engines to be put in the next generation of Arctic Cat machines."
First Vehicle Off The Line Was...
The first unit to roll off the production line was a Wildcat XX, a 130-hp side-by-side. There are also plans to start producing snowmobiles, including the Arctic Cat Kitty Cat youth snowmobile
