Watch a Train Slam into a Semi-Trailer in Minnesota [VIDEO]

A truck driver in Minnesota recently got a stark reminder about the importance of paying attention while behind the wheel, after his grain trailer was torn in half by an oncoming freight train.

The incident happened along Highway 14 in Sleepy Eye last Friday (April 4) and was captured on video.

According to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, as the truck driver was attempting to make the right turn, it went across a railroad crossing, where it was hit by an oncoming Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad train.

Dashboard camera video from a sheriff’s deputy showed the moments leading up to the violent impact, which sent grain spilling out all over the roadway.

The collision also caused damage to the locomotive and resulted in minor injuries to the two people inside the train's engine. The driver of the truck escaped unharmed.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
