One area in particular is getting attention of Sioux Falls motorists. Through social media, several are posting about a "speed trap" on 26th St. between Sycamore Avenue and I-229. Traveling west on this stretch of road is mostly downhill and it's easy to go over the speed limit.

Keep in mind that this is considered a residential road and therefore the speed limit is 30 mph. According to users of NextDoor, the police are spotted doing their jobs nearly every day making sure speed limits are obeyed and keeping the street safe.

In addition to speeding, social media also pointed out the officers are also on the lookout for red-light runners at both Cleveland and Bahnson Avenues.

Many who have read the headline to this story would have assumed that the speed trap is set up on Veteran's Parkway - or the "Daytona of Sioux Falls." While I have observed some police patrolling the 50 mph road, the motorcycle racing and sports car racing at night is very loud. That's the "old me" coming out but some nights at the firepit RPMs are all we can hear. Our original story on the topic was widely read and you can read about it here.

Thanks to the Sioux Falls Police Officers who are out keeping our roads safe! We support our local law enforcement.
