
Bridge Girders Going Up On I-229 Means Nightly Lane Changes Starting Tuesday In Sioux Falls
Late night drivers in Sioux Falls will have a new detour to contend with very soon.
The South Dakota Department of Transportation has announced that the Interstate 229 southbound interchange at Interstate 29 southbound will be closed nightly beginning Tuesday (August 11th) through Friday (August 14th) evening, in Sioux Falls.
The temporary closure is necessary for the planned girder placement of the bridge over Interstate 229.

Temporary Closure Times:
• Each overnight closure will begin at 8:00 PM
• Traffic will be restored by 6:00 AM each of the following mornings
During the closures, southbound I-229 traffic will be directed to northbound I 29 at Exit 77 (41st Street), then routed back to southbound I-29.
