Saturday Night Live on NBC went after South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and the way she described in her book how she once killed her 14-month-old puppy.

New Yorker Magazine reports that in Governor Noem's soon-to-be-released book “No Going Back” she describes how she shot and killed her 14-month-old puppy Cricket in a gravel pit.

Noem reportedly states in the book that Cricket had an “aggressive personality” and after she attempted to train her to hunt pheasant she attacked some neighbor's chickens instead.

Over the weekend Saturday Night Live did a satire segment with Kristi Noem's “other dog” who stops by Weekend Update to defend his owner.
